Two Artists. One Coast.

Capturing the spirit of the Oregon Coast through nostalgic photography and playful paintings.

Jake and Christina Carlsen are a husband-and-wife artist team who live and work on the Oregon Coast in Newport, Oregon. Jake photographs the coast, forests, and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest using vintage film cameras and digital techniques. Christina paints coastal animals and seascapes in watercolor. Together they offer two distinct artistic perspectives on the same beloved landscape.

Photography by Jake Carlsen offers a window into the quiet beauty of nature.

Shooting with both vintage film and carefully crafted digital techniques, Jake’s images capture the wild texture of Oregon’s waterfalls, misty forests, rocky coastlines, and weathered structures. Each piece offers a sense of place — the feeling of standing at the ocean’s edge, the hush of Silver Falls, or the history written into old wood and stone.

Jake’s work is rooted in memory, nostalgia, and an enduring love of the Pacific Northwest.

Why we love the coast

For us, the coast isn’t just a landscape — it’s a feeling, and it’s our home.

It’s the salt in the air, the endless blue horizon, the cry of seabirds overhead. It’s the sense of calm that settles when you breathe in the mist. It’s the wildness and wonder that make the Pacific Northwest so unforgettable.

Through our art, we hope to bring a piece of that magic into your life, no matter where you are.
